The Sierra Nevada Conservancy (SNC) was the recipient of a grant from the Department of Conservation (DOC) to administer watershed coordinator grants within the watersheds that feed Trinity, Shasta, and Oroville reservoirs as previously identified in the June 15, 2020 Grant Agreement between California Natural Resources Agency and SNC. These watersheds were identified in AB 2551 and are funded through the Greenhouses Gas Reduction Fund. AB 2551 added section 71365 to the Public Resource Code which describes the need to develop and submit to the legislature a plan for forest and watershed restoration investments for the drainages that supply the Oroville, Shasta, Trinity reservoirs. The watershed coordinators and a spatial analysis will help achieve the goals described in AB 2551. This effort is a part of the Regional Forest and Fire Capacity Program (RFFCP.)
